Envestnet AM to support retirement-plan providers

SMA firm to help advisors capture a greater share of plan holders' assets. Third-party investment platform provider Envestnet Asset Management has tied up with Business Logic, an investment-management software company, to offer a unified retirement solution for retirement-plan providers, financial advisors and sponsors.

"Envestnet is committed to providing best-of-breed managed account platforms to all aspects of the wealth-management market, including the defined-contribution space," says Judson Berman, CEO of Chicago-based Envestnet. "This alliance provides us with the technology and additional industry expertise necessary to automate our advisory services."

Envestnet's Unified Retirement Platform offers plan providers onsite or online access.

Dirk Quayle, president of Chicago-based Business Logic, says that the link with Envestnet means the company can "offer plan providers a solution that extends beyond advice and managed accounts for plan assets and includes holistic management of non-plan assets through rollover and the retirement income phase."

Envestnet has $38 billion in assets under management and administration, spread across over 400,000 investor accounts. -FWR
