Emerging, Frontier Markets Specialist Raises Latin American Game
The move is a bid by East Capital to strengthen its capabilities in the Latin American market.
East Capital,
which specialises in emerging and frontier market investments, is
ramping up its work in Latin American markets. It has partnered
with Chilean firm Credicorp Capital Asset Management.
Credicorp Capital AM, based in Santiago, will be folded into East
Capital’s investment process, working directly with team members
focusing on Latin America, and providing advisory support on the
macroeconomic and political environment, as well as analysing
investment and divestment ideas.
East Capital oversees $3.5 billion in public equity funds, real
estate funds and separate accounts, for various types of
investor.
“This cooperation with Credicorp will provide East Capital with
deeper insight into markets in Latin America. We believe the
investment style of East Capital and Credicorp are very
compatible, reflecting the value of a long-term focus and ESG
integration. We expect their input and market knowledge to
significantly enhance our investment capabilities in Latin
America," Peter Elam Håkansson, chairman and chief investment
officer of East Capital, said.
