EXCLUSIVE: Four Additions To RBC Wealth Management In Asia

Royal Bank of Canada Wealth Management has continued its hiring drive with four further appointments in Asia, this publication can exclusively report.

Royal Bank of Canada Wealth Management has continued its hiring spree with four further appointments in Asia, this publication can exclusively reveal.

Enoch Tan has been hired as managing director, reporting to Andrew Turczyniak, managing director and head of RBC Wealth Management, Asia. “Tan is heading up a regional effort to provide corporate finance advisory services and specialised strategic solutions to the corporate concerns of high net worth clients in Asia,” a spokesperson for the bank told WealthBriefingAsia in an emailed statement.

Joseph Howe has been named co-head of credit, for Asia, also reporting to Turczyniak.

Mona Leong has been hired as senior credit risk manager, with responsibility for RBC Wealth Management, Asia. Leong will report to Benjamin Tsai, director and head of credit risk at the firm.

The position of human resources business partner has been filled by Daniel Tam. He will be based in Singapore, reporting to Leslie Glass, head of HR at RBC Wealth Management, emerging markets. “Tam will be responsible for partnering with the business in driving a number of significant and strategic people priorities across the wealth management business in Singapore,” the spokesperson said.

Less than two months ago the wealth management arm of RBC bolstered its Asia team with a trio of senior hires, based in Singapore and Hong Kong.

Febby Avianto, formerly at Sarasin bank, joined the bank as managing director and market manager, reporting to Grace Barki, managing director and head of Southeast Asia. Avianto, based in Singapore, is responsible for the overall management of strategy for all client-facing staff.

The Canadian wealth manager appointed Esther Quek as head of FX execution and advisory “to provide high-touch service, advice and support for the FX product capabilities,” RBC said. She joined from Deutsche Bank and reports to Mary Sumners, head of investments, Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, Duncan She, formerly at Clariden Leu, joined the bank as the head of structured products advisory, and reports to Sumners in Hong Kong as well.
