ETF Securities Hires EMEA Distribution Head From Merrill

London-based ETF Securities has taken on former Bank of America Merrill Lynch executive Matt Johnson as head of distribution for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
In his new role, Johnson will be responsible for the direction and oversight of the group’s distribution strategy across the EMEA region. He brings over 20 years of institutional distribution experience to the role and reports to Graham Tuckwell, chairman and chief executive of ETF Securities.
At Merrill Lynch, he was most recently co-head of derivative sales across EMEA, in charge of a number of content-driven sales teams, as well as the bank’s client management group. Prior to his stint at Merrill, he held senior positions in equity derivative sales at Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley.
In other recent developments, last month the firm listed eight of its thematic ETFs on the Swiss exchange SIX - a move it said was driven by interest and demand from Swiss investors.
As at 28 September, ETF Securities was responsible for $30.3 billion in global investor assets.
