EFG Private Bank Names New UK Wealth Planning Head

EFG Private Bank, the UK-based private banking arm of Zurich-headquartered EFG International, a global private banking group offering private banking and asset management services, makes senior hire.

EFG Private Bank has appointed Rajiv Gaglani (pictured) as the new head of UK wealth planning. He is succeeding Ken Chapman, who has decided to step down after six years with EFG to pursue other opportunities, the firm said in a statement.

Gaglani will be responsible for leading EFG’s wealth planning offering in the UK, using his technical expertise in areas such as the UK tax regime, domestic and international succession planning, and real estate. He will work with client relationship officers (CROs) to ensure that clients benefit from EFG’s approach to wealth management.

His appointment will strengthen synergies across the UK and global teams through his network of professional advisors, the bank said. Gaglani will report to Michael Vlahovic, head of private banking at EFG Private Bank and Evgenia Goti Koukoumaki, global head of wealth planning at EFG International.

Prior to joining EFG Private Bank, Gaglani worked at UK-headquartered banking group Standard Chartered where he served as a wealth advisor, where he built out the bank’s UK offering for international clients with a UK nexus. Before working at Standard Chartered, Gaglani worked at PwC and Grant Thornton as a tax advisor to private clients. He has worked with UK and international high net worth individuals and ultra-high net worth individuals clients throughout his career.

“He brings a depth of industry knowledge, experience and a strong professional network, which will be invaluable in helping our clients achieve their long-term goals and demonstrates our commitment to offering a holistic wealth management experience both in the UK and globally,” Vlahovic said.
