Zurich-based global private banking group EFG International has been granted a licence to establish a representative office in Bahrain by the Central Bank of Bahrain. Lawrence Howell, chief executive of EFG International said: "We are delighted to have received this licence from the Central Bank of Bahrain. This will enable EFG Bank to expand its business in the growing Middle East Region." Bassam Salem, chief executive of EFG Bank for the Middle East said: "EFG Bank aims to be one of the region's leading financial services providers. We are expanding our network across the gulf region by developing time honored relationships with clients, leveraging our global network and a differentiated product range."
