The firm has added a raft of CROs and other staff to operations in Singapore.

EFG in Singapore has added a total of eight people to its team, several of whom are in senior positions, this publication can report today.

"The acquisition of talent will continue to be a priority for us as we expand the business," Oliver Balmelli, deputy chief executive and head of private banking, said.

(Last week, EFG International, the parent group listed in Zurich, reported earnings and reshuffled part of its organisation.)

Brandon Wong joins as a senior investment counsellor. He brings 13 years of banking experience to the role, including nine years as an investment counsellor at BNP Paribas Wealth Management. Wong will report to Ashish Dikshit, head of investment counselling.

Grace Wong, senior vice president, joins its Greater China team as a client relationship officer. She will report to Kimmis Pun, team head for Greater China. She has more than 20 years of industry experience, including nine years in private banking. She was previously director of the Taiwan Team at BNP Wealth Management.

Whilton Leo is named as a CRO with the rank of Managing Director. He brings with him more than 20 years of wealth management experience, including a decade in private banking.

He previously served as a senior director for client advisory at Bank J Safra Sarasin. Leo will report to Jennie Hananto, head of the Southeast Asia team focusing on the Indonesia market.
 

Other hires
The firm said that five new CROs have also joined the team and will report to Manoj Ramarao, head of Global South Asia.

Jayanta Chatterjee has been appointed as an executive director, bringing with him more than 20 years of financial industry experience. This includes over a decade in private banking. He previously served as a private banker in the Global South East Asia & Middle East team at Bank of Singapore.

Manoj Samtani also joins the bank as an executive director. He has more than 15 years of industry experience in both private banking and wealth management. He previously spent five years as a private banker at Bank of Singapore.

Nitin Kakaria joins the bank as an executive director, bringing with him 16 years of wealth management experience, including a decade in private banking.  He previously worked for Bank of Singapore and also for UBP Hong Kong, where he was a director.

Rohit Punjabi joins EFG as an executive director. He has over 16 years of private banking experience and previously worked for financial institutions including UBS and Coutts & Co. Prior to joining EFG, he was director of Global South Asia & Middle East at Bank of Singapore.

Vishal Rajani joins EFG as an executive director with more than 15 years of wealth management experience, including five years in private banking. Rajani was previously director, Global South Asia Market, at Bank of Singapore.
