In its first strategic acquisition following recent investment from Beech Tree private equity, cyber-security firm Performanta is purchasing UK-based security consultancy Identity Experts in a bid to bolster solutions specifically for Microsoft clients.

Performanta, based in Maidenhead in Berkshire, provides end-to-end security solutions, including 24/7 managed detection and incident response services for customers.

“This past year, organisations have had to cope with an unprecedented amount of change in how they do business, as well as security and identity risks associated with working outside an office perimeter; as such, many have turned to Microsoft for all manner of services, including security,” Guy Golan, group CEO and co-founder of Performanta, said.

Golan said the acquisition was intended to plug “a critical gap” in the market, especially amongst clients using Microsoft-focused security. Identity Experts is a Microsoft Gold Partner and the firm's founders, Paul Green and Matt Brunton, will continue to run the Microsoft portfolio, the new venture said.
