DBS Group Launches Credit Card For The Ultra-Wealthy

Singapore-based DBS Group has come out with a new credit card product that targets the region's ultra-wealthy.

The DBS Insignia Visa Infinite card has a credit limit of at least $1 million and is offered by invitation only to individuals with at least $500,000 in annual incomes.

In a statement, DBS said the card carries with it special privileges, such as access to renowned wine makers in Bordeaux and dining experiences with Michelin-grade chefs, among others. Welcome gifts include a St Regis Astor Card, a two night stay at selected hotels, and 50,000 air miles.

Singapore is home to some of the wealthiest people in Asia and the world. According to the 2010 Asia Pacific Wealth Report by Capgemini and Merrill Lynch, there were around 81,600 Singaporeans with $1 million or more in investable assets by the end of 2009. Collectively, these individuals had a combined $369 billion in wealth.

The invitations will be hand delivered to the selected clients. The higher version of the card, Ultima, will also carry an extra $3,888 charge, apart from the annual $2,000 fee, but clients will have 24/7 access to a dedicated lifestyle manager, along with other premium benefits.
