London-headquartered Coutts has hired David Thompson to the newly created role of head of fiduciary investments, to drive its flagship Jersey trust business.

London-headquartered Coutts has appointed David Thompson to the newly created role of head of fiduciary investments, to drive its flagship Jersey-based trust business.

Thompson previously worked at Royal Bank of Canada, in Jersey, where he built up the firm's discretionary portfolio management solutions in the British Isles. 

He was also responsible for building open architecture trustee investment selection and monitoring frameworks – something he will be responsible for at Coutts Trustees.

“With over 15 years in the investment management industry, both onshore and offshore, David’s expertise will significantly contribute to the growth of our flagship trust business in Jersey,” said the chief executive of Coutts Trustees, Martin Hall.
