Commonwealth Bank Appoints EGM For Its Online Trading Arm

Commonwealth Bank of Australia names head of online trading arm.

Commonwealth Bank of Australia has appointed a new executive general manager for its online trading arm, Commonwealth Securities, with effect from 10 February 2014.

Paul Rayson assumes the lead role at CommSec after serving as executive general manager of CommInsure, the firm's life insurance arm, since 2009. Before that, he was chief financial officer at CBA's wealth management division from 2006. He joined the bank following its acquisition of the Colonial Group 2000.

He reports to Grahame Petersen, group executive for business and private banking.

CommSec started offering Australian equities trades in 1995 but has since expanded to include derivative products, international equities, managed funds, self managed super fund administration, margin lending and short-term deposits. Its primary channel of business is its website.
