Clariden Leu Appoints North Asia Co-Heads

Clariden Leu, the Swiss private bank, has named Raymond Chung and David Louie as the new co-heads of its North Asia operations.

Mr Chung was previously the managing director for Private Wealth Management at Deutsche Bank and Bankers Trust Company in Hong Kong, leading a team of over 20 private bankers, Clariden Leu said in a statement.

Mr Louie was the managing director private wealth management at Deutsche Bank Hong Kong, leading a team of 40.

"The new executives are very well acquainted with the North Asian market and have more than 20 years of experience in the wealth management industry," said Erich Pfister, the head of the bank's Middle East & Asia division.

The appointments, which took effect 2 November, come shortly after the Swiss bank named Kenneth Toong as the new chairman for Asia. Last month, this publication also reported that Clariden Leu boosted its Asian operations with three senior hires, including that of a new regional private banking chief, from Deutsche Bank.

Chin Lit Yee has been unveiled as the head of private banking South East Asia; meanwhile, Soon Gek Chew has been appointed head of portfolio management and investment strategy Asia and Janice Lee has been named chief credit officer South East Asia.
