Citigroup Bolsters Global Family Office Group

A number of senior figures have just joined or will join the private bank.
Citi Private
Bank has hired Hoo Peng Han (pictured below), as a director
of its global family office group. He will be concentrating on
the Asia South market.
Hoo Peng Han
Previously, he worked at UBS and Credit Suisse, according to his Linkedin profile.
This publication understands that this appointment shows that Citigroup wants to rebuild its family office team in Asia. There have been several departures at the private bank, most notably that of global private head Ida Liu, as reported here. Faye Ong, who had been the head of Citi Wealth's Asia family office advisory head, joined JP Morgan in January as head of the philanthropy centre Singapore and Southeast Asia.
Hoo Peng Han, a Singaporean, is based in Singapore and will focus
on deal origination and syndication. He is joining Stephan Lanz,
a Singapore-based director of the global family office team.
Lanz is a 15-year Citigroup veteran, with experience both at Citi
Global Markets, as well as Citi Private Bank in London.
Alice Chiu, a vice president, will join the same team later this
month and she will be based in Hong Kong, this publication
understands.
