Citi Looks to Beef Up Taiwan Wealth Management

Citigroup is planning to increase its workforce in Taiwan by 40 per cent, according to a report on Bloomberg. The US bank expects to add more than 60 people in various wealth management positions from the current level of around 150. Taiwan has become an increasing focus for the major private banks with the third largest national concentration of high net worth individuals in Asia behind China and Japan. According to the latest figures from the Boston Consulting Group there are over 210,000 people in the country with at least $1 million in net assets, controlling $585 billion.
