Citi India Hires 5 For Global Markets Team

Citibank has made several key hires across its credit markets trading, structuring, and commodities team in India.

Stepping in as director for credit structuring is Rohit Dusad from JP Morgan, where he is credited to have originated structured products for Indian banks and non-bank financial companies. Prior to that, he worked at the fixed income and debt capital markets divisions of Nomura, Deutsche Bank, ABN Amro, and ICICI Bank.

Also joining in the same capacity as Dusad is Aditya Bagree, who moves into the role from the funds derivatives, mortgage swap and options trading unit of Lehman Brothers in New York. At Citi, he will spearhead the structuring activity in credit.

Moving from Morgan Stanley as vice president for credit trading is Chintan Shah, who brings considerable experience in the emerging markets segment, having also worked for Merrill Lynch. Dhiraj Singh and Deepak Shaw step in as commodities specialist and credit analyst, respectively. Shaw is from BNP Paribas Mutual Fund, while Singh is from First Rand Bank.

Citi has one of the largest staff numbers in India among the foreign banks, with almost 8,000 employees. Over the last three years, the company has helped raise close to $60 billion from the capital markets for its clients in India and advised on nearly $25 billion of India-related M&A activity. In India alone, Cit has 42 full-service branches across 30 cities.
