Charles Stanley Bolsters Financial Planning Arm

Charles Stanley, a UK investment management company, has made four senior hires.

Charles Stanley has announced the appointment of four senior financial planners to strengthen its financial planning services across the United Kingdom, as it builds its presence in regional offices.

Harry Bell, a chartered wealth manager and certified financial planner professional, is joining the team in Manchester from Close Brothers Asset Management, the firm said in a statement. He has over 15 years’ experience in the wealth and investment industry, focusing on HNW families, entrepreneurs, and family business owners.

His appointment will allow the Manchester-based team to offer personal and financial planning services alongside tailored investment management.

John Moseley will join Charles Stanley’s Leeds office, coming from Allots Chartered Accountants, where he was an independent financial advisor, the firm continued. He has over 27 years’ experience as a financial advisor, starting as a senior financial advisor at NatWest.

Chartered financial planner, Stephen Hughes, is also joining Charles Stanley in Edinburgh from Schroders Personal Wealth. He previously worked as a financial advisor at Lloyds Banking Group and Bank of Scotland before moving across to the new wealth management joint venture between Lloyds Banking Group and Schroders – Schroders Personal Wealth, the firm said. He started his career in 2006 as a financial advisor at Bank of Scotland.

Meanwhile, Gary Quick will be joining the Exeter office from Francis Clark Financial Planning, the firm continued. With over 20 years of industry experience, he holds chartered status and is a pension, tax planning and investment specialist, having held a role on the investment committee of his previous firm.

Welcoming them to the firm, Andrew Meigh, managing director of financial planning at Charles Stanley, said: “Our clients value the expert advice provided by our professionally qualified planners, and I am extremely pleased to add four senior and talented people to the team. Especially of note is our ambition to expand financial planning services in the North to complement our bespoke investment management service and provide a holistic wealth management service."

"A strong regional presence in Manchester and Leeds allows us to offer the excellent personal and local service that our clients have come to expect from us,” he continued.

Charles Stanley has 35 financial planners working alongside over 169 investment managers across 23 regional offices, providing services direct to private clients, charities, trusts and professional institutions. It also works with financial advisors, legal, accountancy and other professional services firms, supporting them with their client objectives.
