Channel-island WM firm hires private client lawyer

Dubai-based UHNW advisor joins Opus Group from Lawrence Graham. Guernsey-based family-office advisory Opus Group has appointed Andrew Young, formerly in the private-capital practice of London-based law firm Lawrence Graham (LG), to help run its growing international business.

"We have worked with Andrew for many years [while] he was in private practice," says Opus' founder and managing director Shane Giles. "He brings with him award-winning legal experience which will further enhance our ability to deliver sophisticated planning, structuring and private office services to our ultra high net worth clients world-wide."

Young is based in Dubai, where he has been for about a year as head of LG's international practice. In addition to working with Opus' international clients, he will support Opus' new Gulf region office.

It seems that there are no hard feelings between Young and his former employer.

Anthony Thompson, head of private capital at LG's London headquarters, wished Young "all the best in his new venture." Thompson adds that he expects that Young in his capacity as an advisor to Opus will continue to work with LG. -FWR
