Channel Islands Law Firms Attract Magic Circle Lawyers

Channel Islands-based law firm, Ozannes, is expanding in Jersey by establishing a litigation practice, which will be opening in the spring, and will be headed up by Mark Temple. Mr Temple will be joining Ozannes as a partner from Mourants. He has previous experience at City law firm, Ashursts, where he practiced general commercial litigation. Separately, former Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer finance partner, Mark Keeler, has joined the London office of Carey Olsen, the largest law firm in the Channel Islands. He was with Freshfields in Tokyo for 10 years as a partner where he undertook banking and finance work, including securitisations and other structured finance, secured lending, debt and equity capital markets work, for both Japanese and international banks and financial institutions. Prior to joining Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in 1997 he was with Slaughter and May from 1986 to 1997 and worked as a partner in both the Tokyo and Singapore offices of the firm. Mr Keeler will head the Jersey Corporate and Finance group in the London office.
