Several of the individuals involved in this story are responsible for integrating the acquired Credit Suisse business with UBS, following last spring's transaction.

UBS’s retail bank in Switzerland has a new head, Sabine Magri, this news service can confirm.

Magri, currently chief operating officer for personal and corporate banking – UBS’s Swiss arm – will be taking over management of Personal Banking on 1 July, according to a memo from UBS Switzerland boss Sabine Keller-Busse (pictured).

Details of the memo were confirmed to WealthBriefing by a UBS spokesperson late last week. 

Magri has been involved in managing the integration of the Credit Suisse business in the Switzerland region, after UBS bought the rival bank in spring’s “shotgun wedding” last year. Magri will succeed Simone Westerfeld, who decided to take on a new challenge internally after four and a half years as head of private customer business in Switzerland.

Westerfeld will become COO in the "Group Integration Office" as of 1 July, the memo said. Westerfeld will then report to Bereaux, who was appointed "Group Integration Officer" in May 2023; she is responsible for the integration of Credit Suisse at group level.

Andreas Künzler, currently "Program Lead Operational Merger," will in turn take over the Magri's role of COO, personal and corporate banking, and be responsible for the integration for the Switzerland region. 

In addition, Kaja Bertoli, head of Client Solutions Switzerland, will lead a new "Products, Channels & Marketing" division as of 1 July.
