Capital Group Brings Global Equities Strategy To Non-US Investors

The investment house, with $1.4 trillion of assets, has made of its equity strategies available to non-US clients.
Capital Group,
the US-based investment management giant, will launch its New
Perspective fund strategy for European investors. It is the
first time the firm will give access to its US global equity
strategies to investors outside of the US.
The new fund will be domiciled in Luxembourg and comply with
UCITS cross-border rules. It will be managed by the same
team that runs the New Perspective strategy in the US. The fund
will follow the same unconstrained, global investment approach
that Capital Group has used in the US, by making one of its
global equity strategies from the US simultaneously available to
European and Asian investors later this year.
“US investors have had access to [the] New Perspective Fund
for many years and we are excited to bring this strategy to
European clients. The launch of the New Perspective strategy will
complement our drive to grow our European financial intermediary
business and epitomises our focus on delivering superior,
consistent long-term investment results,” Grant Leon, managing
director, financial intermediaries, Europe, said in a
statement.
The fund’s managers believe that looking at the source of a
company’s revenue streams, together with its country of domicile,
can provide for a greater understanding of investment
opportunities and risks, the firm said.
Capital Group’s New Perspective strategy focuses on blue-chip
companies that are well-positioned to take advantage of global
secular trends with the potential to develop into leading
multinationals, it said, as these companies have the added
experience of working in multiple currencies, regulatory and
political regimes and economies.
According to the firm’s investment professionals, companies that
successfully grow beyond their home markets often possess
diversified profit streams, innovative management teams and solid
balance sheets, which would enable them to weather tough times
and flourish in good environments.
Capital Group had $1.4 trillion assets under management as
of 31 December 2014.
