Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management Names New Chief Commercial Officer

The new CCO will help drive the firm’s drive organic growth and artificial intelligence integration.

Wealth manager Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management UK has just appointed Tom Lane (pictured) as its new chief commercial officer.

In this newly-created role, Lane will help drive organic growth and artificial intelligence integration, the firm said in a statement. Among other projects, Lane will lead the integration and development of a new CRM system, allowing Canaccord to support clients more effectively. Part of this involves using AI to help wealth managers not just respond to, but anticipate, clients’ needs, the firm added.

With experience in the financial services sector, Lane brings a blend of vision and a passion for managing complex, large scale change programmes. He is joining from RBC Brewin Dolphin where he worked for nearly five years leading business and technology transformations, including the integration of the RBC Brewin Dolphin and the RBC UK Wealth Management businesses.

Prior to this, Lane worked at NatWest for over a decade, where he led the small business banking division – managing a team of 1,500 – and digitising core processes to enhance customer acquisition and lending.

“He is a pivotal hire for Canaccord as we look to leverage the latest technology to further improve our client offering. Tom's ability to deliver strategic change at pace makes him a key hire for Canaccord at a crucial point in our growth trajectory,” David Esfandi, CEO of Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management, said.

Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management UK has assets under management of £35.2 billion ($46 billion) in the UK and Crown Dependencies. The firm offers private clients, professionals, and charities a range of wealth management services: from discretionary investment management to expert financial planning advice. It has over 750 people who work in its 14 offices which span the UK and the Crown Dependencies. In Scotland, the firm operates under the Adam & Company brand.
