CPA-owned wealth firm expands its leadership team

Ex-JPMorgan advisor says BKW does more than just talk about tax awareness. RIA BKD Wealth Advisors has hired Nadine Givens, formerly an advisor with JPMorgan Chase 's Private Wealth Management (PWM) group, as head of its Indianapolis office.
BKD Wealth Advisors is the wealth-management subsidiary of Springfield, Mo.-based accounting firm BKD.

"The addition of a professional of Nadine's caliber expands our leadership talent and positions us to continue our planned growth in central Indiana under Nadine's stewardship as office director," says BKD Wealth Advisors' president Jack Thurman.
Givens says she moved to BKD Wealth Advisors because of it combines investment consulting and financial planning with a rigorous approach to tax planning -- a byproduct of its affiliation with a top-10 accountacy.
"A lot of firms talk about tax awareness, but they don't really do anything about it" says Givens. "Here, the advisor and CPA are on the phone together with the client and they plan for the call together. I believe this is the right model and the right kind of expertise for the client -- and I wanted to play a part in growing it."
Ten-year-old BKD Wealth Advisors had about $1.5 billion in assets under management earlier this year, according to its latest ADV filing with the SEC. -FWR
