New York-based CAIS, the alternatives platform provider, has named Paul Giurata as chief technology officer to spearhead the development and implementation of its “next-generation” technology platform, while building a presence in Silicon Valley.

Giurata, who started his career designing software at Apple Computer, has two decades of hands-on experience with a range of technology companies, the firm said. 

Most recently, Giurata was managing partner of Catalyst Resources, where he was responsible for the design and development of software applications including trading, investment and banking platforms, as well as systems for numerous financial companies.

In other recent developments at CAIS, in June it added private equity to its product offering in a joint venture with Partners Group, the global private markets investment management firm.
