Broker network appoints practice-management Tsars

National Planning Corporation supports its business-consulting initiative. National Planning Corporation (NPC), the administrative arm of broker-dealer network National Planning Holdings (NPH), has added two new executive positions to its management team.
Oscar Martinez, NPC's "technology ambassador" for the past 10 years, and Erik Feldman, formerly responsible for coordinating practice-management efforts on behalf of NPH-affiliated advisors, will serve as practice-management liaisons for NPC's "offices of supervisory jurisdiction" and their brokers.
Definition
Offices of supervisory jurisdiction are brokerage branch offices where things like order execution is performed and new accounts are approved. NPC launched AdvisorPath, a practice-management program, in February 2008.
Creating the new positions " is the next step in the evolution of NPC's practice management support program," according to NPC's CEO Scott Romine. "AdvisorPath represents our commitment to creating long-term partnerships that support our representatives' business enhancement and expansion goals."
Sherida Ferguson will fill Feldman's shoes as NPH's v.p. of practice management.
NPH is a subsidiary of Lansing, Michigan-based Jackson National. Its affiliates are Tampa, Fla.-based INVEST Financial, Bismarck, N.D.-based Investment Centers of America, Santa Monica, Calif.-based National Planning Corporation and Appleton, Wisc.-based SII Investments. All told these firms have about 3,000 brokers. -FWR
