Berenberg, the world's oldest investment bank, has appointed David Mortlock head of its London office, across all divisions including private banking.

Berenberg, the world's oldest investment bank, has appointed David Mortlock head of its London office, across all divisions including private banking, Berengberg said in a statement.

Mortlock joined Berenberg in 2010 as head of sales and was promoted to global head of equities in 2013, a role which he retains. He will work closely with Hendrik Riehmer, one of Berenberg’s personally liable partners. In the role he oversees all 209 staff.

“David has a proven track record, both within banking and at our organisation, where he has been instrumental in a successful period of growth for Berenberg’s UK business. His deep and strong client relationships, and world class industry and technical expertise make him the right choice to lead the continued evolution in, and expansion of, our UK operations,” said Riehmer.
