Bear Stearns pulls corner-office broker from UBS

L.A.-based broker lured over by "culture, resources, and client offerings". Bear Sterns has made former UBS advisor Gary Fournier a managing director of its Private Client Services brokerage group. He will operate out of a new downtown Los Angeles office, which -- says the firm -- will complement Bear Stearns' primary area office in nearby Century City.

"Gary has reached a level that very few in this business reach. His experience and commitment to his clients is a great fit for the culture of Bear Stearns," says Steve Dantus, head of Bear Stearns Private Client Services. "Attracting one of the most successful investment professionals in the industry is a testament to the Bear Stearns' platform."
Fournier used to be one of UBS Financial's biggest producers. He and his team manage more than $1.1 billion in client assets, according to Bear Stearns.
"When deciding the best next step for me and my clients, the answer was clear," says Fournier. "Bear Stearns' unique culture, resources, and broad client offerings were all extremely appealing." -FWR
