Barings Names New EMEA Distribution Boss

Baring Asset Management has promoted Rod Aldridge to head of wholesale distribution, EMEA, following the resignation of Oliver Morath.

London-headquartered Baring Asset Management has appointed its head of UK wholesale distribution, Rod Aldridge, to lead the wholesale business in EMEA.

Aldridge, who has been with Barings since 2008, will assume the new role as head of wholesale distribution, EMEA. Based in London, he takes the reins from Oliver Morath, who has quit the firm to “pursue another opportunity in the industry”, the company said. Aldridge previously helped establish the UK-based investment platform Cofunds.

“The wholesale business in EMEA is a strategic priority for Barings and we continue to invest in the development and delivery of mutual funds sales across this important region. Rod brings significant experience to the role and we look forward to the next period of growth,” Barings' global head of distribution, Angus Woolhouse, said in a statement.

As of the end of January, Barings managed assets of £27.1 billion ($40.9 billion).
