Barings Boosts International, World Equities Team

Baring Asset Management has bolstered its international and world equities team with the addition of investment manager Tom Mann.

Mann joins from Aberdeen Asset Management, where he had been an investment manager in the European equities team since 2009. Before this he spent eight years with Credit Suisse Asset Management in the European and EAFE Equities team.

In his new role Mann joins a team managing £2.8 billion ($4.5 billion) in world and international equities and will report to David Bertocchi, head of international and world equities.

In other news, earlier this month it emerged that John Burns will take over as chief operating officer at Barings when the incumbent, John Misselbrook, retires at the end of the year.

Burns joins from Visor Capital, a boutique investment bank in Kazakhstan, where he held the same position. He has also worked for Fidelity International and Schroder Investment Management.

Misselbrook joined Barings a decade ago from the WM Company, where was responsible for its fund administration business.
