Barclays Wealth Recruits Eleven for Glasgow-Based Infrastructure Platform

UK wealth manager Barclays Wealth is expanding its technology division with the recruitment of 11 senior staff to support the growth of the company’s infrastructure platform within Glasgow, with more to follow.
As part of the recruitment campaign in Glasgow, which has seen the creation of 199 new roles in 2008, the technology division now has 218 permanent employees in place to develop the infrastructure hub.
Iain MacGillivray joins as technology director from UBS where he was executive director with responsibility for all financial instruments, currencies and commodities IT in Asia Pacific. He will be responsible for technology for Barclays Stockbrokers, working alongside current division heads. Ten other appointments are at associate director level.
Since the beginning of 2007 over 670 new members of staff have joined the company across its technology, HR, finance and operations divisions.
