Bank Sarasin Names Indonesia Head

Bank Sarasin & Co has appointed Febby Avianto to be the managing director and head of the Indonesia Market at Bank Sarasin-Rabo (Asia) Ltd, its subsidiary in Singapore.

Mr Avianto, an Indonesian citizen, joined Sarasin as the desk head of its Indonesia team last year. Prior to this position, he worked as a private banker at UBS, Citigroup, ABN Amro Private Banking, and Bank PDFCI.

In his new role, he will be heading a team of 16 bankers and will report directly to Enid Yip, Sarasin's chief executive officer for Asia. In a statement, Ms Yip said that Mr Avianto's addition to the company would help it grow its AuM and support expansion plans in the region.

The Swiss private bank has been exploring investment opportunities in Asia for the past months. Just recently, it released a report on lucrative sustainable investments in China, particularly on the solar power sector. The bank had said that green credentials would help it soon build a range of Islamic wealth products in the region, after successfully launching in the Middle East.
