The story is further evidence of the Dallas area of Texas being a wealth management hotspot.
BNY
Mellon Wealth Management has appointed three senior figures
to join its Dallas office, underscoring the importance of this
part of Texas in the wealth management market.
The firm has appointed Chris Gold as Dallas market president,
Megan Steinbach as senior private banker and Dan Patterson as
senior wealth manager. They are all based in Dallas and report to
Todd Carlton, regional president, Central Region.
Gold will lead the Dallas area and focus on client relationships,
center-of-influence interactions, product, service and sales
delivery, the firm said in a statement yesterday. Steinbach will
work with new and existing high net worth and ultra-HNW clients
to develop and implement a strategic plan for managing credit and
treasury solutions.
Patterson will provide wealth management advice, including
managing portfolios and providing strategic planning and advice
for UHNWIs.
Two years ago, this publication wrote
about the size and growth of the Dallas/Fort Worth
market. Texas benefits from having no state income tax and what
is perceived as a relatively pro-business regulatory climate,
contrasting with higher-taxed states such as New York and
California. Among recent developments, Dallas entrepreneur
and investor Greg Alexander opened a family office, Capital
54, and appointed the former global president of YPO (Young
Presidents’ Organization), Sean Magennis, to run it.
Gold, who brings more than two decades of wealth management
experience, is joining BNY Mellon Wealth Management from
Northern Trust, where he was a senior managing
director. Prior to that, he served in a variety of senior
roles at Lazard Asset Management, Bank of America and EY. He
earned a bachelor of arts from DePaul University.
Steinbach is joining from Northern Trust, where she most
recently served as senior private banker. Previously, she worked
in various capacities at Frost Bank. She earned a bachelor
of business administration from Southern Methodist
University.
Patterson, who has 35 years of financial services experience, is
also joining from Northern Trust, where he was a senior
investment portfolio manager. Before that, he served as an
institutional fixed income portfolio manager at Provident
Investment Counsel. He earned a bachelor of science from Marshall
University, a master of business administration from Northern
Arizona University, and a Juris Doctorate from Whittier College
School of Law.
