BNY Mellon Wealth Management Steps Up Asia Business Drive With Senior Hire; More Planned

BNY Mellon Wealth Management has hired Vivian Chan as wealth director of business development in Hong Kong, with further appointments in the pipeline.

BNY Mellon Wealth Management has hired Vivian Chan as wealth director of business development in Hong Kong, with further appointments in the pipeline, the firm said. She previously worked at Oppenheimer & Co in Newport Beach, in the US.

In her new role, she will provide comprehensive discretionary investment and wealth management services to high net worth individuals and families. Chan reports to Chuck Long, head of greater China for BNY Mellon Wealth Management.

BNY Mellon’s recent launch of new enhanced wealth management services out of its Hong Kong office signifies a marked expansion of its Asia-Pacific wealth management presence, it said in a statement yesterday.

“The firm plans to hire additional wealth directors, portfolio managers and other professionals as its client base grows,” Long said.

At Oppenheimer & Co, Chan was a director of investments responsible for creating customised financial strategies and solutions for high net worth families. Her practice also focused on serving female executives and women in transition from divorce or widowhood. She has 20 years of financial services experience, half of which focused on providing strategic wealth management/private banking services to high net worth clients.
