BNP Paribas Wealth Management Names New International Markets CEO
Paris-based BNP Paribas Wealth Management makes senior appointments, as it strengthens its offering and cooperation between regions.
BNP Paribas Wealth Management has just promoted Pierre Ramadier (pictured) to CEO of wealth management international markets.
Based in Paris, Ramadier will report to Vincent Lecomte, CEO of BNP Paribas Wealth Management, the firm said in a statement.
He is currently global head of entrepreneurs and families (E&F) and a member of the wealth management executive committee.
In his new role, Ramadier will will be responsible for international markets covering Germany, Luxembourg, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Spain, Monaco and the Middle East. He will pilot the international markets development plan, aiming to intensify cooperation between the different markets and group entities, in line with a reinforced OneBank approach.
Ramadier began his career with the group in 1986, the firm added. In 2000, he was responsible for setting up the group’s first private banking region, and he became co-head of BNL Private Banking in Italy in 2006, where he launched the new private banking business model. In 2010, he was appointed head of international retail markets (Mediterranean Europe) to develop BNP Paribas Wealth Management's activities in Morocco, Turkey and Poland. He then became head of bank of the West Wealth Management in the US, before being appointed head of entrepreneurs and families in 2020, the firm said.
In addition, Guillaume Brateau has been appointed CEO of wealth management Luxembourg, the firm continued. Brateau will report to Ramadier and, on a regional level, to Béatrice Belorgey, president of the BGL BNP Paribas executive committee.
Brateau, who is currently commercial director of BNP Paribas Banque Privée in France, will be based in Luxembourg. He will also join the executive committee of wealth management and the executive committee of BGL BNP Paribas, the firm said.
Brateau began his career in 1994 as an auditor with the group Finindus. He moved to Banque OBC (of the ABN Amro Group) in 1997 as a head of internal control and compliance, and then as chief operating officer (COO) chief financial officer (CFO) in 2000. At Fortis in 2005, he was appointed COO/CFO and managing board member. At the time of the merger between Fortis and BNP Paribas, Brateau was the head of French banking activities integration, the firm added. In 2011, he was named group director, head of retail, small and medium sized enterprises (SME), and private banking for BNP Paribas Banque Privée in Lyon, evolving to Banque Privée France country head of sales development for France in 2014.
Both of their successors will be announced at a later date, the firm said.
