BNP Paribas Lists New Clean Energy, BRIC ETFs

EasyETF, the exchange traded funds business of Paris-based BNP Paribas Investment Partners, has added two new trackers to its range: the EasyETF BNP Paribas Global Renewable Energy and the EasyETF DJ BRIC 50 funds.

Aiming at two different areas of growth, the EasyETF BNP Paribas Global Renewable Energy fund will invest in ethical technologies while the DJ BRIC 50 ETF will invest in the emerging BRIC markets. Both were listed on Euronext Paris on 10 July.

The EasyETF BNP Paribas Global Renewable Energy fund aims to capitalise on the commitments to invest in renewable energy sources made by Europe and the US. The renewable energy tracker adds to EasyETF’s existing ethical technology trackers - EasyETF FTSE ET50 Environment, EasyETF S-Box BNP Paribas Global Water and EasyETF BNP Paribas Global Waste, the firm said in a statement.

“European targets aim to achieve 20 per cent of energy consumption to be supplied from renewable sources by 2020. The S-Box BNP Paribas Global Renewable Energy index offers investors indexed exposure to the whole industry through companies active in this space,” said Guillaume Dolisi, head of BNP Paribas EasyETF.

The EasyETF DJ BRIC 50, designed to resemble the DJ BRIC 50 TR Index, has investments in all four emerging BRIC economies, with 15 stocks in Brazil, five in Russia, 15 in India and 15 in China.
