BNP Paribas AM Gets New Asia-Pacific Boss
The new head takes over on 8 August, taking over from a predecessor who is retiring from the organisation and returning to Europe.
BNP
Paribas Asset Management yesterday announced that Steven
Billiet was the firm’s new Asia-Pacific head, taking over on 8
August and succeeding Ligia Torres, who is retiring from the firm
and returning to Europe.
Billiet joined BNPP AM earlier this year as head of distribution
for Asia-Pacific and will retain the regional distribution
responsibilities, in addition to his role as head of the region.
Based in Hong Kong, he will report to Sandro Pierri, BNPP AM
global head of client group, and locally to Eric Raynaud, head of
BNP Paribas in Asia-Pacific.
His financial services career spans over 25 years, of which 18
were in chief executive officer roles of divisions within global
organisations in Australia, India, Singapore and Taiwan. He was
most recently CEO for JP Morgan Asset Management in Singapore
where he oversaw the overall management of the firm’s local set
up and all client segments in South East Asia and Korea.
Paris-listed BNP Paribas, parent of the asset management arm, is
due to issue second-quarter financial results on 31 July.
