Australian Bank Adds to Asian Wealth Team

Australian-based banking group ANZ said it has appointed Sean West as its managing director for Wealth Asia, its wealth management arm in the Asia-Pacific region, and Ross Foden as head of operations for the Asia-Pacific region at the bank.

Both men will be based in Singapore. Mr Foden starts in his role on 1 September and Mr West begins his role on 15 September.

Mr West was previously general manager, insurance, for St George Bank in Sydney. In his new role, he will lead growth in investment and insurance in Asian markets.

Mr Foden, meanwhile, was previously employed in senior roles at HSBC for eight years.

“There are significant opportunities in the medium term to build a wealth business to meet the growing aspirations of customers in Asia, particularly in our key markets of Greater China, Indonesia, Vietnam, India and Malaysia", ANZ group managing director for Asia-Pacific, Alex Thursby, said.
