Arbuthnot Latham Hires RBS Veteran

The private and commercial banking arm of London-listed Arbuthnot Banking Group has created a senior position in Manchester.

The UK's Arbuthnot Latham has hired Andrew Broughton from the Royal Bank of Scotland as commercial banking director for the North West.

Broughton joins the Manchester-based team after more than 30 years at RBS, where he held various senior roles. He latterly served as the bank's head of specialised relationship management, leading a team of commercial bankers serving owner-managed businesses across the Midlands and the East of England.

Arbuthnot Latham’s commercial banking unit serves private banking clients with commercial interests as well as the wider commercial market, with a focus on established, successful owner-managed businesses.

“Andrew brings a wealth of experience from his numerous roles with the Royal Bank of Scotland Group, which he will deploy as commercial banking director at our North West regional office. His appointment builds on the success of the private banking and wealth management team that we have appointed in the region,” said Arbuthnot Latham’s chief executive, Ian Henderson.

Henderson took the helm from James Fleming last month after Fleming stepped down after four years as CEO of Arbuthnot Latham.

The firm first established a presence in the North West when it opened an office in Manchester in 2014.
