UK-listed Arbuthnot Banking Group has boosted its private banking business with the appointment of four new bankers in London and Exeter, among whom Nicholas Cotton has been named director of private banking.

Mr Cotton's prior career includes senior client-facing roles at Citi Private Bank and HSBC Private Bank, where he worked in both the UK and Middle East, along with senior roles in fund management and offshore investments at SG Hambros.

The next appointee, Neal Wilkinson, joins Arbuthnot Latham as a senior private banker, having most recently been a manager at Barclays Bank's Premier Banking division.

Next, Tony Byrne, who was most recently at Lloyds Banking Group, joins as a private banker in Arbuthnot Latham’s Exeter office in southwest England.

Finally, Charlotte Bullen-Stallard has also joined Arbuthnot Latham as a member of the team. Ms Bullen-Stallard’s career includes various management roles at the Sefton Group and Verizon, where she predominantly worked in trade finance, but for the last two years she has been running her own wine import business.

In other developments, Arbuthnot Banking Group recently extended its offering with the launch of Gilliat Financial Solutions, a structured products distribution business. Adrian Neave, Gilliat’s founder and managing director, is joined by a sales and marketing team which includes Steven Graham as operations director and John Croft in the role of sales director.
