Ansbacher Channel Islands, part of the Ansbacher Group, has appointed Bob Jackson as head of banking and investment operations based in its Jersey Office. He will report to Mark Bright, managing director Ansbacher Channel Islands. Mr Jackson joins Ansbacher from Royal Bank of Scotland where, as director of operations, he was responsible for bringing together the operational teams of RBS International and SG Warburg Custody to form £10 billion offshore custodian RBSI Custody Bank. Prior to this, Mr Jackson supported investment operations at SG Warburg and Mercury Asset Management. Ansbacher is owned by Qatar National Bank and is represented in the UK, the Channel Islands, Bahamas, Dubai, Doha and Switzerland. QNB is listed on the Qatari Stock Exchange with 50 per cent ownership by the Qatari government and the balance held by public shareholders. It is the largest bank in Qatar with total assets of around $10 billion, controlling around 50 per cent of the assets in the country’s banking system.
