Another Hire At LA Wealth Manager

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s hiring of a manager of business and operations strategy for its wealth management division, Los Angeles-based wealth manager and private bank City National has hired Michael Muttart as senior vice president and chief fiduciary officer for trust and investment management.

Mr Muttart will be responsible for legal and regulatory policies and procedures and be a resource for personal trust officers and other members of the wealth management services unit. He will also participate in business development opportunities, reporting directly to Michael Dowling, the head of trust services.

Mr Muttart joins from US Trust, Bank of America private wealth management in Palm Desert where he was the western division fiduciary advisor. Before that, he was an assistant general counsel and team leader for Bank of America's legal department in Los Angeles, where he advised the private bank on fiduciary matters related primarily to trusts, proprietary mutual funds and alternative investments.

Prior to his career in private banking, Mr Muttart was in private practice in Los Angeles at trust and estate law firms.
