The Bahrain Monetary Agency has granted licences to American Express Private Bank and to Dexia Asset Management Luxembourg to open representative offices in the kingdom. This licence will bring the number of American Express entities in Bahrain to three since the company began using the country as centre for its operation in the region in 1976. Dexia is already present in Bahrain with a representative office of Dexia Private Bank Switzerland.
