American Express Private Bank has tapped an ex Merrill Lynch Global Private Clients employee for its new team leader/market head for Europe. Anna Koenig joins as senior director and will be based in London where she will develop the bank's European business strategy and manage the London office. At Merrill Ms Koenig was executive director of its pan-European office, where she managed a team of 70 people. She was latterly team leader for Greece, Cyprus, Israel and Malta. Ms Koenig left Merrill five years ago.
