Altius Associates, the private equity advisory and fund of funds firm, has appointed Joachim Suter as a partner in its EMEA investor relations team.

Suter will be based in the London office, reporting to Dr Eric Warner, head of the global investor relations team.

Suter joins from Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets, where he was senior vice president, private placement, overseeing unlisted investment products across Switzerland, Italy and Luxembourg. He previously worked for PIMCO Europe, UBS Asset Management and Credit Suisse First Boston.

Altius says it is seeing rising interest in its private equity and real asset funds; it is currently pushing a new real asset fund, as well as a global private equity vehicle, and Suter will be focusing on marketing these across EMEA.

Altius, which launched in 1998, currently manages $21 billion in real asset and private equity funds, working out of offices in London; Richmond, Virginia; and Singapore. Its clients mostly hail from Europe, North America and Australia.
