AXA Investment Managers Ups the Ante On Tech With New Hire

In a bid to drive its digital strategy, AXA Investment Managers has hired a new chief digital technology officer.
AXA
Investment Managers has appointed Alban Jarry as chief
digital technology officer as part of a
move to drive digitisation efforts.
In his role, Jarry will manage the different digital roadmaps at
AXA IM and advise on the opportunities and solutions offered by
digital technology, the firm said in a statement.
Prior to AXA IM, Jarry worked with La Mutuelle Générale, where he
was the director of its solvency II programme, ORSA and strategic
risk.
In total, he has 20 years' experience managing IT projects in the
financial, risk management and insurance sectors. Additionally,
Jarry is a speaker at HEC Paris on digital strategies, personal
branding, communication and social media; deputy chairman and
member of the scientific committee on big data and digital at
Ecole Polytechnique d’Assurances; and vice president of XBRL
France.
“Having Alban on board will be key in helping to deliver against
the goals of our digital strategy and drive innovation in the way
that we use data and digital technologies across the business,”
said Hervé Morel-Derocle, global head of technology at AXA IM.
“We are certain that his expertise and ability to
both analyse existing technologies and anticipate new
trends will help accelerate our digital transformation.”
Jarry's appointment comes as a recent
report from MyPrivateBanking suggests the wealth
management industry should see big data as an opportunity for
expansion. The report said companies should embrace technology
solutions as opposed to viewing them as a threat in order to
appeal to millennial clients seeking technology-oriented banks
and wealth management.
