AMP Capital Reorgs Global Portfolio Management Business Structure, Announces Key Appointments

AMP Capital, the Australian investment manager, has taken full control of its global portfolio management business following the termination of its joint venture with listed property firm AMP Capital Brookfield.
The move is meant to expand the exposure of its global listed real estate and infrastructure teams to global and regional trends by placing all aspects of operations under one roof, the firm said in a statement. Both teams manage a combined A$5.5 billion on behalf of clients.
All current AMP Capital Brookfield real estate investment professionals based in Sydney, Hong Kong and London will remain with AMP Capital. Sydney-based Matthew Hoult will become head of global listed real estate, while Joseph Pavnica, the senior portfolio manager in Chicago, will head the American coverage. Pavnica will be supported by Robert Thomas, Matthew Hodgkins and Dominic Cappellania, who will function as portfolio managers.
Tim Humphreys, who is based in Sydney, takes the role of head of global listed infrastructure to lead a team of four, including newly-appointed London-based portfolio managers Giuseppe Corona and Kevin Scutt.
"We continue to see increased demand for global listed real estate and infrastructure domestically and internationally and we already have a strong client base spread throughout Asia Pacific and Europe," commented David Kiddie, chief investment officer of AMP Capital.
Kiddie added that the decision to bring both platforms in-house follows a strategic review and is aimed at strengthening its offerings to clients both domestically and abroad.
