Henderson Global Investors has added to a string of appointments over the past month with the promotion of Paul O’Connor as co-head of its multi-asset team, as well as a new senior portfolio manager for the firm’s £12.7 billion ($21.0 billion) property business.

After only a year with the London-based firm, O’Connor will work with Bill McQuaker, who leads the 13-strong team managing £6 billion in assets.

The pair will be responsible for developing the team’s franchises in institutional and retail markets around the world, according to a statement.

In addition, Rob MacQueen joins Henderson’s property business as a senior portfolio manager for the £1.3 billion Henderson UK Property Unit Trust.

He joins co-fund managers Marcus Langlands Pearse and Ainslie McLennan to assist with both the fund’s active acquisition programme and the installation of business plans across its portfolio.

Bringing eight years of real estate experience to Henderson, he previously worked as an associate director for M&G Real Estate, managing over £750 million. O’Connor, on the other hand, spent the past twelve months working with institutional and retail clients, becoming a key part of the asset allocation and investment management process.

His career history spans from investment research, to trading and investment consultancy as well as fund management.
