Bentley Reid’s Malta Subsidiary Names New Chief Executive

There’s change at the top of the Malta-based wealth management organisation.
The Malta subsidiary of London-headquartered wealth management group Bentley Reid has appointed one of its senior team figures, Emily Burgess (main picture), as CEO.
Burgess joined Bentley Trust (Malta) Limited in 2017, where she
was named as trust manager, becoming a director in 2019. She
brings more than 25 years’ experience in financial services and
operations across the UK, Malta, the UAE and Turkey, including 16
years specialising in the trust and fiduciary sector. She holds
an MBA in business management from Liverpool John Moores
University and is a full member of the Society of Trust and
Estate Practitioners (STEP).
Her elevation to the role follows the news that Malcolm Becker
(pictured below) is stepping down as the chief executive, a role
he has served in since 2003. Becker has also been chairman of the
BR Trust Group since 2014.
Malcolm Becker
Becker established the STEP Malta Branch in 2007 and acted
as chairman until 2013. He is still active on the local
STEP executive committee and has organised STEP international
conferences in Malta.
Bentley Trust (Malta) Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary.
This week, this news service
published an interview with the head of Malta’s financial
regulator, touching on sectors such as family offices, private
banks and asset management.
