Jersey-Based Trust Firm Makes Two Senior Appointments

This publication brings more news of moves in the global wealth management market.
Nautilus, the
Jersey-headquartered trust company, has appointed two people to
its senior team. Michael Goulborn will replace Jan Kenny as
executive director, who will remain a consultant to Nautilus, and
Peter Cheesley will fill the newly-created role of head of
business development.
As Goulborn takes over as executive director, he will join the
board of Nautilus as well. He will be responsible for managing
the financial and estate planning interests of a portfolio of
private clients, including the administration of a range of
structures such as discretionary trusts, foundations and private
trust companies. Goulborn will specialise in establishing and
administering trust and fiduciary structures for high net worth
individuals and their families, Nautilus said in a statement.
As the new head of business development, Cheesley will lead the
company in developing its position in the offshore trust market
and growing its client base.
Goulborn previously worked at Carey Olsen, the offshore law firm.
He gained experience with a number of law firms in the City
of London before relocating to Jersey in 1999 and qualifying as a
Jersey Advocate in 2004. He qualified as an English solicitor in
1992 after a career in the Royal Air Force.
Cheesley comes from offshore law firm Ogier. He has worked with
marketing and business development for more than 20 years. He has
experience from working in the banking, legal and fiduciary
sectors in London and Jersey, holding positions with leading
banks and a "magic circle" law firm.
Nautilus is an independent trust company with headquarters in
Jersey. It expanded by opening offices in Mauritius in December
2013 and in Hong Kong in January 2014.
