Swiss Bank Ploughs into Verbier

Swiss private bank Julius Baer has recruited a team of ten for its new branch in the Swiss ski resort of Verbier, according to Alex Widmer, head of the private banking unit, as reported in Geneva newspaper Le Temps. The Zurich-based bank opened a branch in the ski resort of Crans-Montana at the beginning of the year, followed by a further branch in Zug. A number of other international locations – Abu Dhabi, Bogotá, Cairo, Istanbul, Mexico City, Montevideo and Moscow – are at an advanced stage of development according to the group’s business review for the first half of 2007.
