Banco Espirito Santo On Acquisition Trail

Portugal’s Banco Espirito Santo has said it is reviewing acquisition opportunities in France and the UK, according to a report in Jornal de Negocios reported citing an unnamed source at the bank. BES is mainly interested in institutions in investment banking, private banking and asset management. Several institutions that are for sale in both countries are currently being analysed but there are no formal talks yet, the paper said.
